Picture #6: The Kyles of Bute as viewed from the Scottish Mainland near Colintraive.

Kyles of Bute

The Kyles of Bute is a narrow waterway but  unlike the Isle of Skye, Bute remains unbridged.  Thus the island retains its "so near yet so far" status.  The view looks down to the South East towards Rothesay, Millport & Largs in the distance. The Mull of Kintyre and the Isle of Arran in the Firth of Clyde lie well beyond what can be seen from here.
